1 Corinthians 6

1Does any of you dare, when you have a legal case against another, to be judged before the unjust rather than before the set-apart ones? 2Or do you not know that the set-apart ones will judge the world? And if the world is to be judged by you, are you unworthy of presiding over the most trivial law courts? 3Do you not know that we will judge angels, let alone the mundane matters of daily life? 4If, then, you have law courts for these mundane matters, do you appoint as judges those who are of no account in the assembly? 5I say this to your shame. Is there really not one wise person among you who will be able to decide a dispute between his brothers? 6Instead, brother goes to court against brother, and this before unbelievers!

7Truly, it is already a total defeat for you that you have lawsuits with one another at all. Why not rather be wronged? Why not rather be defrauded? 8Instead, you yourselves are the ones who wrong and defraud—and you do this to your own brothers! 9Or do you not know that the unjust will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be led astray: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor those who make themselves soft, nor those who lie with men, 10nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor verbal abusers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11And some of you were these things. But you washed yourselves, you were set apart, and you were made just in the name of the Lord Jesus and in the Spirit of our God.

12Everything is permitted for me.” But not everything is beneficial. Everything is permitted for me,” but I will not be mastered by anything. 13Food is for the stomach and the stomach for food,” but God will bring both of them to an end. The body is not for sexual immorality but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body. 14And God both raised the Lord and will raise us up through his power.

15Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ? Should I then take the members of Christ and make them members of a prostitute? Never! 16Or do you not know that the one who unites himself to a prostitute is one body with her? For The two,” it says, will become one flesh.” 17But the one who unites himself to the Lord is one spirit with him. 18Flee from sexual immorality! Every other sin a person commits is outside the body, but the one who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. 19Or do you not know that your body is a sanctuary of the Holy Spirit within you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, 20for you were bought with a price. Therefore, glorify God with your body.
