2 Corinthians 6

1Working together with God, we also appeal to you: do not receive the grace of God in a way that leads to nothing. 2For he says: At the favorable time I listened to you, and on the day of salvation I came to your aid.” Look! Now is the well-accepted time. Look! Now is the day of salvation.

3We give no cause for offense in anything, so that our service may not be found at fault. 4Instead, in every way we commend ourselves as servants of God: by great endurance, in afflictions, in hardships, in calamities, 5in beatings, in imprisonments, in riots, in exhausting labors, in sleepless nights, in hunger; 6by purity, by knowledge, by patience, by kindness, by the Holy Spirit, by genuine love, 7by truthful speech, and by the power of God. We come with the weapons of justice in the right hand and in the left; 8through glory and dishonor, through slander and good report. We are treated as deceivers, and yet we are true; 9as unknown, and yet we are well known; as dying, and look! we live; as disciplined, and yet not put to death; 10as sorrowing, yet always rejoicing; as poor, yet making many rich; as having nothing, yet possessing everything.

11Our mouth has opened wide to you, Corinthians; our heart has been thrown wide open. 12You are not being squeezed by us, but you are being squeezed in your own deepest feelings. 13As a fair exchange—I speak to you as to my own children—open your hearts wide as well.

14Do not be mismatched under a different yoke with those who do not believe. For what partnership is there between justice and lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness? 15What harmony is there between Christ and Beliar? Or what share does a believer have with an unbeliever? 16What agreement does the sanctuary of God have with idols? For we are the sanctuary of the living God, just as God said: I will dwell among them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people. 17Therefore, come out from among them and be separate,” says the Lord, and do not touch what is unclean; then I will receive you. 18And I will be a Father to you, and you will be sons and daughters to me,” says the Lord, the All-Powerful.
