2 Corinthians 9

1Now, regarding the service to those who are set apart for God, it is truly unnecessary for me to keep writing to you. 2For I know your eagerness, of which I boast on your behalf to the Macedonians, telling them that Achaia has been ready since last year; and your zeal has stirred up the majority of them. 3But I am sending the brothers so that our boasting about you in this matter might not prove empty, but so that you may be prepared, just as I said you would be. 4Otherwise, if any Macedonians come with me and find you unprepared, we—not to say you—would be put to shame in this confident undertaking. 5Therefore, I thought it necessary to urge the brothers to go on ahead to you and arrange in advance this blessing-gift you previously promised, so that it might be ready as a genuine blessing and not as something extorted from your greed.

6Consider this: the one who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the one who sows upon the foundation of blessings will also reap upon the foundation of blessings. 7Each person should give as they have determined in their heart, not out of regret or under compulsion; for God loves a cheerful giver. 8And God is able to make every grace overflow to you, so that in every way, always having everything you need for contentment, you may overflow in every good work. 9Just as it is written: He scattered abroad, he gave to the poor; his justice endures forever.” 10Now, the one who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed and will increase the harvest produced by your justice.

11You will be enriched in every way for every kind of sincere generosity, which through us produces thanksgiving to God. 12For the service of this public ministry is not only fully supplying the needs of the holy ones, but it is also overflowing through many thanksgivings to God. 13Through the proof provided by this service, they will glorify God for the submissive loyalty of your confession to the Good News of the Christ, and for the sincerity of your partnership with them and with everyone. 14And in their prayer for you, they long for you because of the surpassing grace of God upon you. 15Thanks be to God for his indescribable gift!
