2 John 1

¹The Elder, to the chosen Lady and her children, whom I love in Truth—and not I alone, but also all those who have come to know the Truth— ²because of the Truth that abides within us and will be with us throughout the age.

³Grace, mercy, and peace will be with us from God the Father and from Jesus Christ, the Father’s Son, in Truth and love.

⁴I rejoiced greatly to find some of your children living their lives in Truth, just as we received a command from the Father. ⁵And now I ask you, Lady—not as if I were writing a new command to you, but one which we have had from the beginning—that we love one another. ⁶And this is what love is: that we live according to his commands. This is the command, just as you heard from the beginning, so that you might live your life in it.

⁷I say this because many imposters have gone out into the world, those who do not acknowledge Jesus Christ as coming in human flesh. This is the imposter and the antichrist. ⁸Watch yourselves, so that you do not lose what we have worked for, but instead receive a full wage. ⁹Anyone who "advances" too far and does not abide in the teaching of the Christ does not have God; the one who abides in this teaching has both the Father and the Son. ¹⁰If anyone comes to you and does not bring this teaching, do not receive him into your house and do not even give him a greeting. ¹¹For the one who gives him a greeting partners in his wicked works.

¹²Although I have many things to write to you, I do not want to do so with paper and ink. Instead, I hope to come to you and speak mouth to mouth, so that our joy may be fulfilled. ¹³The children of your chosen sister greet you.
