2 Thessalonians 1
1Paul, Silvanus, and Timothy, to the assembly of the Thessalonians in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ: 2Grace to you and peace from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
3We are obligated to give thanks to God always for you, brothers and sisters, as is only fitting, because your faith is growing beyond measure and the love of every single one of you for each other is overflowing. 4Consequently, we ourselves boast about you among the assemblies of God for your steadfast endurance and faith through all your persecutions and the crushing pressures you are bearing.
5This is a clear sign of the just judgment of God, resulting in your being counted fit for the kingdom of God, on behalf of which you are indeed suffering. 6For it is indeed just for God to repay with crushing pressure those who are crushing you, 7and to grant relief to you who are being crushed, as well as to us. This will happen at the unveiling of the Lord Jesus from heaven with his powerful messengers 8in a blazing fire, rendering justice to those who do not know God and those who do not obey the good news of our Lord Jesus. 9These ones will pay the penalty of eternal ruin, away from the presence of the Lord and from the splendor of his strength, 10on that day when he comes to be glorified in his holy ones and to be marveled at among all those who have believed—because our testimony to you was believed.
11To this end, we also pray for you always, that our God may make you worthy of his calling and may bring to fulfillment every desire for goodness and every work of faith by his power. 12This is so that the name of our Lord Jesus may be glorified in you, and you in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
