Hebrews 1

In many fragments and in many fashions of old, God spoke to the fathers by the prophets. 2At the culmination of these days, he has spoken to us in the person of a Son, whom he appointed heir of all things, through whom he also fashioned the ages. 3He is the outshining of God's glory and the exact imprint of his essential being, sustaining the universe by his powerful word. After he had achieved the purification of sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in the highest realms. 4He has become as much superior to the angels as the name he has inherited is more distinguished than theirs.

For to which of the angels did God ever say: You are my Son; today I have become your Father”? And again: I will be a Father to him, and he will be a Son to me”?

And again, when he brings the firstborn into the inhabited world, he says: And let all the angels of God bow down before him.”

Now, regarding the angels he says: He makes his angels winds, and his public servants a flame of fire.”

But regarding the Son: Your throne, O God, is forever and ever, and the scepter of justice is the scepter of your kingdom. 9You have loved justice and hated lawlessness; therefore God, your God, has anointed you with the oil of exultation beyond your companions.”

And: You, Lord, laid the foundations of the earth in the beginning, and the heavens are the work of your hands. 11They will perish, but you remain; they will all grow old like a garment, 12and like a mantle you will roll them up; like a garment they will be changed. But you are the same, and your years will never come to an end.”

But to which of the angels has he ever said: Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for your feet”?

Are they not all spirits engaged in public service, sent out to minister for the sake of those who are about to inherit salvation?
