Mark 16

¹When the Sabbath had passed, Mary of Magdala, Mary the mother of James, and Salome bought aromatic spices so that they could go and anoint him. ²Very early on the first day of the week, they come to the tomb just as the sun had risen. ³They were saying to one another, "Who will roll away the stone from the entrance of the tomb for us?" ⁴But when they looked up, they see that the stone had been rolled away—for it was extremely large.

⁵Entering the tomb, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a white robe, and they were utterly overcome with alarm. ⁶But he says to them, "Do not be alarmed. You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, the one who was crucified. He has been raised—he is not here. Look, there is the place where they laid him. ⁷But go, tell his disciples and Peter: 'He is going ahead of you into Galilee. There you will see him, just as he told you.'"

⁸And going out, they fled from the tomb, for trembling and bewilderment had seized them. And they said nothing to anyone—for they were afraid.
