Philippians 4

1So then, my brothers and sisters, whom I love and long for—my joy and my victor’s wreath—stand firm in the Lord in this way, beloved ones.

2I appeal to Euodia and I appeal to Syntyche to come to a common mind in the Lord. 3Yes, I also ask you, true partner, assist these women, for they contended side by side with me in the work of the Good News, along with Clement and the rest of my co-workers whose names are in the book of life.

4Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say it, rejoice! 5Let your gracious forbearance be known to everyone. The Lord is near. 6Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition with gratitude, let your requests be made known to God. 7And the peace of God, which surpasses every human intellect, will stand guard over your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

8Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is dignified, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if there is any excellence and if there is anything worthy of praise—consider these things. 9The things you learned and received and heard and saw in me, put these into practice. And the God of peace will be with you.

10I rejoiced in the Lord greatly that now at last you have revived your concern for me; indeed, you were concerned before, but you lacked the opportunity to show it. 11Not that I am speaking from a sense of need, for I have learned to be self-sufficient in whatever circumstances I find myself. 12I know how to be brought low, and I know how to have more than enough. In any and every situation I have been initiated into the secret of being well-fed and of going hungry, of having more than enough and of being in need. 13I have strength for everything in the one who empowers me. 14Nevertheless, you did well to partner with me in my affliction.

15And you Philippians know that in the early days of the Good News, when I departed from Macedonia, not a single assembly partnered with me in an account of giving and receiving except you alone. 16Even in Thessalonica, you sent help for my needs more than once. 17Not that I am seeking the gift, but I am seeking the profit that accumulates to your account. 18I have received payment in full and have more than enough; I am fully supplied, having received from Epaphroditus the things you sent—a fragrant aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, well-pleasing to God. 19And my God will fully satisfy every need of yours according to his wealth in glory in Christ Jesus. 20To our God and Father be glory forever and ever. Amen.

21Greet every holy one in Christ Jesus. The brothers who are with me greet you. 22All the holy ones greet you, especially those of Caesar’s household. 23The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit.
