Revelation 10
Then I saw another powerful angel descending from heaven. He was draped in a cloud, with a rainbow over his head; his face was like the sun, and his legs were like pillars of fire. 2In his hand he held a small scroll that had been opened. He planted his right foot on the sea and his left on the land, 3and he shouted with a great voice, just as a lion roars. When he shouted, the seven thunders spoke with their own voices.
And when the seven thunders spoke, I was about to write; but I heard a voice from heaven saying, “Seal up what the seven thunders spoke, and do not write it down.”
Then the angel whom I saw standing on the sea and on the land raised his right hand to heaven 6and swore by the One who lives forever and ever—who created the heaven and everything in it, the earth and everything in it, and the sea and everything in it—that there will no longer be any delay. 7Rather, in the days when the seventh angel speaks, when he is about to blow his trumpet, then the mystery of God is completed, just as he proclaimed the good news to his own servants the prophets.
Then the voice that I heard from heaven spoke to me again, saying, “Go, take the scroll that has been opened in the hand of the angel who is standing on the sea and on the land.”
So I went to the angel and told him to give me the small scroll. And he said to me, “Take it and eat it up; it will make your stomach bitter, but in your mouth it will be sweet as honey.” 10I took the small scroll from the hand of the angel and ate it up. In my mouth it was sweet as honey, but when I had eaten it, my stomach was made bitter.
Then they said to me, “You must prophesy again concerning many peoples, nations, languages, and kings.”
