Revelation 8
And when he opened the seventh seal, there was silence in heaven for about half an hour.
And I saw the seven angels who stand before God, and seven trumpets were given to them.
And another angel came and stood at the altar, holding a golden censer, and much incense was given to him so that he might offer it with the prayers of all the holy ones upon the golden altar before the throne. 4And the smoke of the incense rose with the prayers of the holy ones from the angel's hand before God. 5Then the angel took the censer and filled it with fire from the altar and hurled it onto the earth—and there came thunders and rumblings and flashes of lightning and an earthquake.
And the seven angels holding the seven trumpets prepared themselves to sound them.
And the first sounded his trumpet, and there came hail and fire mixed with blood, and it was hurled onto the earth. A third of the earth was burned up, and a third of the trees were burned up, and all the green vegetation was burned up.
And the second angel sounded his trumpet, and something like a great mountain ablaze with fire was hurled into the sea. A third of the sea became blood, 9and a third of the living creatures in the sea died, and a third of the ships were destroyed.
And the third angel sounded his trumpet, and a great star fell from heaven, burning like a torch, and it fell on a third of the rivers and on the springs of water. 11The name of the star is called Wormwood. A third of the waters became wormwood, and many people died from the waters because they had been made bitter.
And the fourth angel sounded his trumpet, and a third of the sun was struck, and a third of the moon, and a third of the stars, so that a third of them was darkened and the day did not shine for a third of its hours, and the night likewise.
And I looked, and I heard an eagle flying at the zenith, crying out with a loud voice: "Woe! Woe! Woe to those who dwell on the earth, because of the remaining trumpet blasts from the three angels who are about to sound!"
