Romans 12
1Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, by the deep compassions of God, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice—set apart, well-pleasing to God—which is your rational worship. 2Do not be molded by this present age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what the will of God is: that which is good, well-pleasing, and complete.
3For through the grace given to me, I say to everyone among you: do not over-think your own importance beyond what is necessary to think, but think so as to remain in a sound state of mind, according to the measure of faith God has distributed to each. 4For just as we have many parts in one body, and all the parts do not have the same function, 5so we, though many, are one body in Christ, and individually we are parts belonging to one another. 6Since we have charismata that differ according to the grace given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, in proportion to the faith; 7if service, in the act of serving; if one is a teacher, in the teaching; 8if one is an encourager, in the encouragement; the one who shares, with single-mindedness; the one who leads, with diligence; the one who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.
9Love must be without a mask. Abhor what is evil; glue yourselves to what is good. 10Be devoted to one another with family affection; in honor, lead the way for one another. 11In diligence, do not be hesitant; in spirit, be set ablaze; serve the Lord. 12Rejoice in hope; endure in affliction; persist in prayer. 13Share in the needs of the holy ones; pursue hospitality. 14Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. 15Rejoice with those who rejoice; weep with those who weep. 16Think in harmony with one another. Do not be fixated on high status, but be carried along by what is humble. Do not become wise in your own estimation.
17Repay no one evil for evil; take thought for what is noble in the sight of all people. 18If possible, so far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone. 19Do not take your own justice, beloved, but leave room for the Wrath, for it is written: “Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay,” says the Lord. 20“But if your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him a drink; for by doing this, you will heap burning coals of fire upon his head.” 21Do not be conquered by evil, but conquer evil with the good.
