1 Corinthians 13

1If I speak in the tongues of humans and even of angels, but do not have love, I have become a resonant gong or a clanging cymbal. 2And if I have the gift of prophecy and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith so as to move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. 3If I give away everything I own in morsels to feed the poor, and if I hand over my body so that I may be burned, but do not have love, I gain nothing.

4Love is patient; love acts with kindness. Love does not burn with envy; love does not brag; it is not inflated with pride. 5It does not act disgracefully; it does not seek its own advantage; it is not easily provoked; it does not keep a record of wrongs. 6It does not rejoice in injustice, but rejoices together with the truth. 7It supports all things, trusts all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

8Love never falls. But if there are prophecies, they will be set aside; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be set aside. 9For we know only in part and we prophesy only in part; 10but when the complete comes, the partial will be set aside. 11When I was an infant, I spoke like an infant, I thought like an infant, I reasoned like an infant. When I became an adult, I set aside the things of an infant. 12For now we see through a mirror, as in a riddle, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I will know fully, just as I have been fully known. 13But now, these three remain: faith, hope, and love; and the greatest of these is love.[/SPEAKER]
