Colossians 3

1If, then, you were raised with the Christ, seek the things above, where the Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. 2Set your minds on the things above, not on the things upon the earth. 3For you died, and your life has been hidden with the Christ in God. 4When the Christ—who is your life—is revealed, then you also will be revealed with him in glory.

5Put to death, then, your earthly members: sexual immorality, impurity, lust, evil desire, and greed—which is idolatry. 6Because of these things, the wrath of God is coming upon those who are characterized by disobedience. 7You also once walked in these ways when you were living in them. 8But now, you must also lay aside all these things: anger, rage, malice, slander, and shameful speech from your mouth. 9Do not lie to one another, since you have stripped off the old humanity with its practices 10and have put on the new humanity, which is being renewed into full knowledge according to the image of its Creator. 11In this state, there is no Greek and Jew, circumcised and uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, slave, or free; instead, Christ is all things and in all things.

12Therefore, as God’s chosen ones, holy and beloved, dress yourselves with deep-seated compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. 13Bear with one another and be gracious to each other if anyone has a complaint against someone else; just as the Lord was gracious to you, so you must also be. 14Above all these things, put on love, which is the bond of completeness. 15And let the peace of Christ act as the umpire in your hearts, the peace to which you were called in one body. And be thankful. 16Let the word of the Christ dwell within you richly as you teach and admonish one another in all wisdom, singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with grace in your hearts to God. 17And whatever you do, whether in word or in deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.

18Wives, align yourselves under your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. 19Husbands, love your wives and do not be embittered against them. 20Children, obey your parents in everything, for this is pleasing in the Lord. 21Fathers, do not irritate your children, so they do not become discouraged. 22Slaves, obey your earthly masters in everything—not with performative service as people-pleasers, but with sincerity of heart, fearing the Lord. 23Whatever you do, work from the soul, as for the Lord and not for humans, 24knowing that from the Lord you will receive the repayment of the inheritance. You are serving the Lord Christ. 25For the one who does wrong will be paid back for the wrong he did, and there is no partiality.
