Revelation 14
Then I looked, and behold: the Lamb was standing on Mount Zion, and with him were one hundred and forty-four thousand who had his name and the name of his Father written on their foreheads. 2And I heard a sound from heaven like the roar of many waters and like the sound of loud thunder; the sound I heard was like lyre-players playing their lyres. 3They were singing what seemed to be a new song before the throne and before the four living beings and the elders. No one was able to learn that song except the hundred and forty-four thousand—those who had been ransomed from the earth.
These are the ones who did not defile themselves with women, for they are ritually pure; these are the ones who follow the Lamb wherever he may go. These were ransomed from among humanity as a first-fruit offering to God and to the Lamb. 5In their mouth, no lie was found; they are without blemish.
Then I saw another angel flying at the zenith of the sky, possessing an everlasting announcement of good news to proclaim to those who dwell on the earth—to every nation, tribe, language, and people. 7He said with a loud voice, “Fear God and give him glory, because the hour of his judgment has come! Worship the one who made the heaven, the earth, the sea, and the springs of water.”
Another angel, a second one, followed, saying, “Fallen! Babylon the Great has fallen! She who made all the nations drink the wine of the passion of her prostitution.”
And another angel, a third one, followed them, saying with a loud voice, “If anyone worships the beast and its image and receives a mark on their forehead or on their hand, 10that person will also drink the wine of God’s fury, which has been poured undiluted into the cup of his anger. They will be tortured with fire and sulfur in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. 11The smoke of their torture rises for ages of ages. There is no rest day or night for those who worship the beast and its image, or for anyone who receives the mark of its name.”
Here is the need for the steadfast endurance of the holy ones—those who keep the commandments of God and the faithfulness of Jesus.
And I heard a voice from heaven saying, “Write this: How fortunate are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.”“Yes,” says the Spirit, “so that they may rest from their labors, for their deeds follow along with them.”
Then I looked, and behold: a white cloud, and sitting on the cloud was one like a son of man, having a golden victor's crown on his head and a sharp sickle in his hand. 15And another angel came out of the temple, crying out with a loud voice to the one sitting on the cloud: “Send out your sickle and reap, for the hour to reap has come, because the harvest of the earth is parched and ready.” 16So the one sitting on the cloud swung his sickle over the earth, and the earth was harvested.
Then another angel came out of the temple in heaven, and he also had a sharp sickle. 18And another angel came from the altar—the one who has authority over fire—and he called out with a loud voice to the one who had the sharp sickle, saying, “Send out your sharp sickle and gather the clusters from the vine of the earth, because its grapes are fully ripe.” 19So the angel swung his sickle into the earth and gathered the vintage of the earth, and he threw it into the great winepress of the fury of God. 20The winepress was trodden outside the city, and blood flowed from the winepress as high as the horses' bridles for a distance of sixteen hundred stadia.
