Revelation 3
1And to the angel of the assembly in Sardis write: These things says the one who holds the seven spirits of God and the seven stars: I know your works—that you have a reputation for being alive, yet you are dead. 2Wake up, and strengthen what remains that was about to die, for I have not found your works complete before my God. 3Remember therefore how you received and heard; keep it, and turn back. If then you do not wake up, I will come like a thief, and you will never know what hour I will come upon you. 4But you have a few people in Sardis who have not stained their garments, and they will walk with me in white, because they are worthy. 5The one who conquers will likewise be clothed in white garments, and I will never blot out his name from the scroll of life, and I will declare his name before my Father and before his angels. 6Let the one who has an ear hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies.
7And to the angel of the assembly in Philadelphia write: These things says the Holy One, the True One, the one who holds the key of David, the one who opens and no one will shut, who shuts and no one opens: 8I know your works. Look—I have set before you an opened door that no one can shut—because you have little power, yet you kept my word and did not deny my name. 9Look—I will deliver some from the synagogue of Satan, those who claim to be Judeans and are not, but are lying. Look—I will make them come and bow down before your feet, and they will know that I have loved you. 10Because you kept my word of patient endurance, I also will keep you from the hour of testing that is about to come upon the whole inhabited world, to test those who dwell on the earth. 11I am coming quickly. Hold fast to what you have, so that no one takes your crown. 12The one who conquers—I will make him a pillar in the temple of my God, and he will never go outside again. And I will write on him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God—the new Jerusalem descending out of heaven from my God—and my own new name. 13Let the one who has an ear hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies.
14And to the angel of the assembly in Laodicea write: These things says the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the origin of God's creation: 15I know your works—that you are neither cold nor hot. If only you were cold or hot! 16So, because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to vomit you out of my mouth. 17Because you say, "I am rich, I have grown wealthy, and I need nothing," and you do not know that you are the wretched one—pitiable and poor and blind and naked— 18I counsel you to buy from me gold refined by fire so that you may be rich, and white garments so that you may clothe yourself and the shame of your nakedness not be exposed, and salve to anoint your eyes so that you may see. 19Those whom I love, I rebuke and discipline. Be earnest, therefore, and turn back. 20Look—I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with me. 21The one who conquers—I will grant to him to sit with me on my throne, just as I also conquered and sat down with my Father on his throne. 22Let the one who has an ear hear what the Spirit says to the assemblies.
